The Chemist (Chemical Engineer) is responsible for supporting laboratory and field-based chemical evaluation, focusing on formulation, testing, and performance analysis of materials used in energy applications. This role contributes to the development and optimization of chemical solutions that enhance operational efficiency and asset integrity. Working closely with R&D, laboratory, and field teams, the position ensures accurate testing, data analysis, and application of results. The ideal candidate combines strong laboratory expertise with a practical
understanding of field operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare Develop and test chemical formulations for oil and gas applications
• Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate chemical performance under simulated conditions
• Analyze test results and provide insights to support product development and optimization
• Support scale-up activities from laboratory to field application
• Collaborate with field teams to monitor chemical performance and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, methodologies, and results
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and quality procedures
• Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to improve product effectiveness
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
• 5–7 years of experience in chemical formulation, testing, and performance evaluation
• Experience in laboratory and/or energy sector environments is preferred
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Essential
• Strong experience in chemical formulation and laboratory testing
• Knowledge of chemical performance evaluation techniques
• Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical methods
• Ability to analyze and interpret experimental data
• Understanding of scale-up processes from lab to field application
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (R&D, operations, field teams)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred
• Experience in oil and gas or energy-related chemical applications
• Familiarity with production chemicals, EOR, or flow assurance
• Exposure to pilot testing or field trial programs
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements
