JOB SUMMARY
A specialist engineering and technical services provider supporting the energy sector, with a
strong focus on upstream oil and gas operations. The company delivers high-quality subsurface
and production solutions, partnering with operators to optimize asset integrity and enhance
operational performance. They are recognized for its technical expertise, collaborative approach,
and commitment to delivering data-driven insights across complex assets.
The Corrosion Specialist is responsible for assessing, monitoring, and mitigating corrosion risks
across upstream oil and gas assets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring asset integrity,
operational safety, and compliance with industry standards. Working closely with materials,
production, and integrity teams, the specialist provides expert guidance on corrosion
management strategies and material selection. The position requires a strong balance of
technical expertise, field awareness, and analytical capability to support long-term asset
performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform corrosion assessments and develop mitigation strategies for upstream facilities and pipelines
• Design and implement corrosion monitoring programs, including inspection and testing plans
• Evaluate material selection for sour service and corrosive environments
• Analyze corrosion data, failure reports, and inspection results to identify root causes
• Recommend and optimize corrosion inhibitors and chemical treatment programs
• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NACE and ISO
• Support integrity management and risk-based inspection (RBI) processes
• Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations to stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering,
Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 8–10 years of experience in corrosion assessment, monitoring, and mitigation within the oil and gas industry
• Professional certifications (e.g., NACE/AMPP) are highly desirable
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Essential
• Strong expertise in corrosion mechanisms, testing, and mitigation techniques
• Experience in material selection for sour service and harsh operating environments
• Proven track record in corrosion inhibitor selection and performance monitoring
• Knowledge of international standards (NACE, ISO) and best practices
• Experience in failure analysis and root cause investigation
• Familiarity with inspection techniques and integrity management systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred
• Experience with offshore or Middle East assets
• Familiarity with risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies
• Exposure to digital corrosion monitoring tools and data analytics
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams
