Drilling Manager - Unconventional

WeConnect Energy are supporting a leading Oil & Gas company in the Middle East with the appointment of an experienced Drilling Manager to oversee onshore unconventional operations.

This position is supporting a large-scale unconventional drilling programme, requiring extensive experience in shale and hydraulic fracturing environments. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong drilling operational and project management expertise.  

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and operational oversight of onshore unconventional drilling activities
   
• Manage rig performance, optimisation, safety, and cost control across multiple wells
   
• Interface directly with the operating company and service providers
   
• Drive best-in-class well delivery performance aligned with US unconventional standards
   
• Ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory, and contractual requirements
   
• Mentor and develop rig teams to support high-efficiency pad drilling campaigns

Candidate Profile

• Significant exposure to unconventional shale developments
   
• Experience working for both an Operator and a Drilling/Rig Contractor
   
• Strong understanding of pad drilling, batch operations, and performance optimisation
   
• Demonstrated leadership across multi-rig campaigns
   
• International experience and exposure to Middle East operations is advantageous
