Job Title: Overhead Lines Specialist – Site Supervision

About the Role
We are supporting the execution of a major high-voltage grid expansion program in the region. As part of the delivery team, we’re looking for an experienced Overhead Lines (OHL) Specialist to oversee the on-site construction of new transmission lines (400kV or equivalent). The role is embedded full-time on site and is responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and compliance throughout construction and commissioning phases.

Role Overview
This position will serve as the client’s representative on the OHL construction site. You will oversee day-to-day progress, lead inspections, and coordinate with the EPC contractor to ensure all works meet the approved design and project standards. You’ll also play a key role in troubleshooting, stakeholder coordination, and documentation, ensuring the project stays on schedule and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety protocols

• Lead quality inspections and monitor overall contractor performance

• Support issue resolution in collaboration with project leadership and contractor teams

• Review and validate contractor’s daily reports and technical documentation

• Provide input into commissioning planning and site execution

• Ensure design intent is properly implemented on site and flag any discrepancies

• Contribute to review of technical submittals and design documentation

• Track site progress, NCRs, and corrective actions with accurate documentation

• Participate in coordination and progress meetings with project stakeholders

• Certify materials, inspections, joint measurements, and progress milestones for invoicing

• Support and supervise acceptance testing and commissioning activities

• Enforce HSE standards and promote a culture of safety and accountability

Candidate Requirements

• Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer

• Minimum 10 years of experience with 400kV OHL projects (design and construction)

• Proven background supervising turnkey EPC projects in similar environments

• Strong technical understanding of overhead transmission design, installation, and QA/QC practices

• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus but not required

• Strong awareness of field-level HSE best practices and ability to lead by example on site

Additional Information
This role is part of a wider supervision team working across multiple project sites. The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate closely with remote project managers and fellow site engineers, and maintain full-time presence at the assigned project location.
