JOB SUMMARY

 

A specialist engineering and technical services provider supporting the energy sector, with a strong focus on upstream oil and gas operations. The organisation delivers high-quality subsurface and production solutions, partnering with operators to optimise reservoir performance and enhance hydrocarbon recovery. It is recognised for its technical expertise, collaborative approach, and commitment to delivering data-driven insights across complex assets. The PVT Engineer will play a critical role in supporting reservoir and production engineering activities through detailed fluid characterization and analysis. This position is responsible for interpreting PVT data, developing and tuning EOS models, and ensuring accurate fluid representation for reservoir simulation studies. Working closely with subsurface and laboratory teams, the role contributes directly to reservoir understanding and field development planning. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise and the ability to translate laboratory data into actionable engineering insights.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct detailed PVT analysis and fluid characterization using laboratory and field data

• Develop, calibrate, and tune Equation of State (EOS) models for reservoir simulation

• Interpret and validate PVT laboratory results to ensure data quality and consistency

• Provide fluid property inputs and support for reservoir simulation and production engineering studies Collaborate with reservoir engineers to integrate fluid models into dynamic simulation workflows

• Support fluid sampling programs, including design, execution, and data interpretation

• Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders and clients

• Ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices in PVT analysis

 

QUALIFICATIONS   

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline

• 5–10 years of experience in PVT analysis, fluid characterization, and EOS modeling

• Strong background in upstream oil and gas, particularly in reservoir engineering support

 

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

 

Essential

• Strong expertise in PVT laboratory studies and fluid property analysis

• Proven experience in EOS modeling and tuning for reservoir simulation

• Solid understanding of reservoir fluid behavior and phase properties

• Experience with fluid sampling techniques and data validation

• Ability to integrate PVT data into reservoir simulation workflows

• Proficiency in industry-standard PVT software and tools

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

 

Preferred

• Experience working with Middle East carbonate or complex reservoirs

• Familiarity with compositional reservoir simulation tools

• Previous experience in a consulting or technical services environment

• Exposure to field development planning and production optimization studies

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly
