Senior Associate

WeConnect Energy is currently recruiting for a Senior Associate, on behalf of our client, an energy firm based in the Middle East

This role is a full time, permanent position working within their business development function based out of their office in Abu Dhabi and must be filled by a UAE national.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists the (Senior) Manager in the company’s Business Development and M&A initiatives internationally to screen, initiate, negotiate, structure and execute Oil and Gas deals and New Energy projects in line with the vision, mission and strategy of the client

• Participate in the overall transaction workflow and manage (parts of) the deal process: origination, screening, evaluation, structuring, execution and closing

• Participate in the implementation of post-merger integrations (e.g., re-organization, financing in case of acquisition / merger, and follow-on, performance tracking in case of IPO, etc.)

• meaningful responsibility in project management, deal structuring and execution

Key Requirements

• Strong economic analysis and financial modelling skills 

• Experience in leading Business Development / M&A projects and multi-functional transaction teams 

• Planning, coordination and resource allocation skills, good communication and presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills 

• Strong knowledge across of the oil and gas value chain with particular focus on the upstream sector, but also of the broader energy landscape including critical political and environmental factors 

• Knowledge of current trends and challenges related to the energy transition including a broad understand of the emerging sectors such as hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, etc. 

• Strong commercial skills combined with an in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, negotiating oil and gas agreements governing the relationships between operators, their partners and host governments
