Job Title: Civil Engineer (On-Site)

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their team as an on-site Owner's Engineer for a utility-scale wind farm project in Oman. The successful candidate will oversee and manage all civil engineering aspects of the project, excluding wind turbine foundations. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality, compliance, and timely completion of civil works in accordance with project specifications and local Omani standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and provide technical support for all on-site civil works, including but not limited to:
Access roads and internal road network
Hardstands
Drainage systems
Substation and control building foundations
Cable trenches and ducting
Temporary construction facilities
Monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to project specifications for all civil works
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks on all civil engineering activities
Ensure compliance with local Georgian standards, regulations, and environmental requirements
Prepare detailed technical reports and maintain accurate documentation of site activities
Participate in project meetings and communicate effectively with the project team and client
Identify potential risks or challenges related to civil works and propose mitigation strategies
Oversee implementation of health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the construction process
Assist in the review and approval of method statements and work procedures for civil works
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 3 years specifically in renewable energy projects
In-depth knowledge of Omani construction standards, regulations, and permitting processes
Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
Strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and construction methodologies
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, project management software)
Willingness to work on-site for extended periods
Experience working as an Owner's Engineer or in a similar supervisory role
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with international wind energy standards and best practices
Knowledge of erosion control and environmental mitigation measures
Experience with construction in challenging terrains or adverse weather conditions
